Rebecca Byrd

The mission of UNC Charlotte's Community Garden is simple: to provide an opportunity for students and area residents to build relationships while producing healthy food. Rebecca Byrd, a current graduate student at UNCC, was the President of the Garden Club in Fall 2016. She worked to keep the garden running smoothly, atract new student members, and promote the benefits of the community garden. The community garden partners with the Jamil Niner Student Pantry on campus to provide fresh produce for students who experience food insecurity.
